The petitioner has prayed for a writ of mandamus commanding the respondents to pay interest to him for the period 19.07.2018 to 03.09.2024 at the rate 12% per annum till the date of actual payment and in the alternative decide his representation dated 07.10.2024 made in this behalf. 2. Learned standing counsel has placed on record the instructions received from the Competent Authority, according to which, there was some dispute relating to possession of the land. The same has been offered as justification for not paying the interest during the said period. 3. As the stand taken by the State in this regard is being disputed by counsel for the petitioner, therefore, we dispose of the instant petition with direction to Competent Authority, (Land Acquisition), to decide the representation dated 07.10.2024 within eight weeks from the date of communication of the instant order after providing full opportunity of hearing to the parties. 4.
