The Thasildar – Thiruvotriur, No.304/936, TH Road, Ellaimman Koil Street, Thiruvotriur, Chennai – 600 019. 2. Panchalai C 3. Saravanan C ... Respondents Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the first respondent to take necessary action on the representation dated 11.06.2025 and to immediately rectify the revenue records based on the representation dated 11.06.2025 and reinstate the petitioner name as the rightful owner of the property in Town Survey No.24, Survey No.24 and 3/2 in question. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocate appearing for the first respondent. 3. Even according to the petitioner, the subject property is in continuous possession and enjoyment of entire family members. Thereafter, the patta was issued in favour of the petitioner in the year 2014. In fact, on the basis of the patta, the petitioner also borrowed the subject property and availed loan from M/s. Equitas Finance Limited. When the petitioner verified the records, it was transferred in the name of the second respondent who is none other than the mother of the petitioner. Therefore, now the petitioner submitted a representation to rectify the mistake in the revenue records. 4. Admittedly, the petitioner's mother was issued patta and on the strength of the same, she executed the settlement deed in favour of the third respondent. Therefore, mere rectification of the revenue records would not serve any purpose since the subject property now settled in favour of the third respondent. Hence, the petitioner ought to have approached the Civil Court for appropriate relief. Therefore, the representation submitted by the petitioner cannot be considered and this Writ Petition is liable to be dismissed. 5. In the result, this Writ Petition is dismissed.
