The grievance of the petitioner is directed towards the impugned circular dated 17.01.2023 at Annexure-B and the circular dated 03.03.2023 at Annexure-C, which mandate the installation of GPS (Global Positioning System) in their vehicles and registered in One State with One GPS portal for the transportation of mines and minerals. 3. Learned Additional Government Advocate brings to the notice of this Court a decision rendered in the case of Smt. Mangala and Others Vs. State of Karnataka and Others in WP No.100775/2024 at the Dharwad Bench, which was rendered on 08.02.2024. It is submitted that similar petition was dismissed while observing that if the GPS system is installed in their vehicles, no harm or prejudice will be caused to the petitioner. It was recorded that the cost of the GPS system would only be about Rs.1000/- and it would not impact the petitioner adversely, so as to cause financial constraint. It was also held that there is no restriction when the vehicle is not used for transport of mines and minerals in the vehicle. The GPS system was directed to be put in place to record the movement of the vehicle carrying mines and minerals, which cannot be construed as any restriction placed on the petitioner. - 4 - NC: 2025:KHC:7344 WP No. 4779 of 2025 Learned Additional Government Advocate would therefore submit that the writ petition may be dismissed in similar terms. 4. Having regard to the decision already rendered by a Coordinate Bench of this Court, this Court is of the considered opinion that the writ petition should accordingly be disposed of in terms of the orders passed in W.P.No.100775/2024. 5. Accordingly, the writ petition stands disposed of in terms of the orders passed in W.P.No.100775/2024. If any notice has been issued by the respondents, the petitioner is permitted to give a written reply and then the respondents are directed to consider the reply and take action only in accordance with law.
