The present criminal revision has been filed challenging the impugned judgment and order dated 30.09.2019 passed by learned Judge, Family Court, District Haridwar in Criminal Case No.189 of 2016 Smt. Shivani Chaturvedi and Another vs. Shri Ankit Kumar Chaturvedi after a delay of 2096 days. 4. An application seeking condonation of delay has been filed. 5. This Court has considered the explanation offered in the delay condonation application. The reasons assigned are general in nature, unsupported by material particulars, and do not satisfactorily explained the delay covering the entire period of 2096 days. 6. The explanation furnished neither discloses any sufficient cause within the meaning of law nor demonstrates due diligence on the part of the revisionist. The delay is inordinate and remains substantially unexplained. 7. It is settled that even where an application for condonation of delay is filed, the Court is required to be satisfied that the explanation is reasonable, bona fide, and covers the whole period of delay. The present case does not meet that threshold. 8. In view of the aforesaid, the application seeking condonation of delay is rejected. Consequently, the revision, being barred by limitation, is dismissed.
