Heard learned counsel for the petitioner, Shri Atul Kumar Dubey, learned counsel for respondent no.1 and learned Standing Counsel, who appears on behalf of State-Respondents. This writ petition has been filed by the petitioner with the following main prayers : "(i) Issue a writ, order or direction in the nature of Mandamus thereby commanding and directing the opposite parties specially opposite party no. 2 and 3 look into the matter and decide the representations given by the petitioner, in the interest of justice. (ii) Issue a writ, order or direction in the nature of Mandamus thereby commanding and directing the opposite parties specially opposite party no. 2 and 3 to take appropriate action upon the grievances of the petitioner and correct the voter list of Village Panchayat -Pratap Rudrapur, Vikas Khand- Rampur, Sangramgarh, Tehsil-Lalganj, District-Pratapgarh by deleting the names of voters whose names registered in several Village Panchayat voter list contained in Annexure No. 1 & 2 to this writ petition, in the interest of justice." It is the case of the petitioner that he has already submitted a representation regarding duplication of names of voters in the voter lists of Gaon Sabha, namely, Pratap Rudrapur, Rampur Babli, Jashmadha, Anehra, Pure Janai, and Khaura Pure Chamai. No action has been taken by the respondents despite the said representation having been sent to them on 04.11.2025 by Versus Counsel for Petitioner(s) : Shailendra Pratap Singh, Prabhakar Srivastava Counsel for Respondent(s) : Atul Kumar Dubey, C.S.C. Anant Ram Patel .....Petitioner(s) U.P. State Election Commission, Lko. Thru. Secy. P.C.F. Building Station Road And Others .....Respondent(s) registered speed post. Learned Standing Counsel has informed this Court that, as per instructions dated 24.11.2025 sent by the Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Lalganj, Pratapgarh, the petitioner's representation has been decided after an enquiry conducted by the Tehsildar, Lalganj. A public notice in this regard was published on 18.11.2025 concerning the special intensive revision of the voter list. On 23.12.2025, a provisional voter list, on an interim basis, shall be published, inviting objections till 30.12.2025. Between 31.12.2025 and 06.01.2026, the objections shall be considered and disposed of in accordance with law. The petitioner's representation has been taken into account and an appropriate order shall be passed accordingly. A copy of the said instructions has been kept on record. In view of the aforesaid instructions sent by the Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Lalganj, Pratapgarh, this writ petition is disposed of. We hope and expect that no duplication of names in the voter lists of the various Gram Panchayats is permitted by the District Electoral Officer.
