AGP Ms. Rama Halder … for the State-respondent(s) This Court by its order dated 06.12.2024 directed the learned Registrar General, High Court, Calcutta to communicate with the Superintendent of Police, Hooghly and for submitting a report before this Court. Pursuant to the said direction, the Superintendent of Police, Hooghly (Rural) Police District has submitted a report. Thus, steps have been taken by the Superintendent of Police so far as the concerned officer is concerned. 2 Further, on the basis of the information furnished by the petitioner no.3, Pursurah PS Case No. 369 of 2024 dated 20.12.2024 has been registered under the relevant provisions of BNS, 2023. Having considered the prayers so advanced before this Court for taking legal steps in respect of the complaint filed by the petitioners; report submitted by the concerned police station as well as the report submitted before this Court by the Superintendent of Police, Hooghly (Rural) Police District, I am of the view that the purpose for which the present writ petition has been preferred has been subserved. The police authorities would ensure that there be a strict vigil at the locale and no breach of peace and tranquility takes place in the area in view of the inimical relationship existing between the petitioners and the private respondents. 3 With the aforesaid observations, WPA 7496 of 2023 is disposed of. Pending application(s), if any, is also disposed of. Report so submitted by the Superintendent of Police, Hooghly (Rural) Police District be kept with the record.
