GUNESHWAR SHARMA Order 18.08.2025 [1] Heard Mr. M. Hemchandra, learned senior counsel assisted by Mr. Juno Rahman, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr. Th. Sukumar, learned G.A. for the State respondent. [2] By the present writ petition, the petitioner who is one of the Hockey Associations in Manipur approached this Court for issuing a direction to respondents, especially respondent No. 2 i.e. Hockey India, to consider the representation dated 03.03.2025 and reminder representation dated 21.07.2025 submitted by the petitioner for recognition of Hockey Manipur as permanent member of Hockey India. [3] It is submitted that in Manipur there are two Hockey Associations, one Hockey Manipur and another Manipur Hockey. Earlier Manipur Hockey was affiliated with Hockey India. However, in terms of the various orders passed by this Court and Gauhati High Court, the registration of Manipur Hockey has been cancelled with a direction to register in a new name. [4] In the representation, it is stated that since the registration of Manipur Hockey is cancelled by the authority, Hockey Manipur may be recognized as a permanent member of Hockey India. [5] It is stated that the representations are still pending with respondent No. 2 i.e. Hockey India. It is prayed that the writ petition may be disposed of by directing respondent Nos. 2 & 3 i.e. Hockey India and Manipur Olympic Association to consider the representations submitted by the petitioner and pass a speaking order. [6] Mr. Th. Sukumar, learned G.A. for the State respondent, submits that State respondent has no role in the present writ petition and it is between Hockey India and Manipur Olympic Association and this Court may pass appropriate order in the facts of the present case. [7] Recording the submissions made at the bar and the nature of the limited prayer prayed for, the present writ petition is disposed of by direction respondent Nos. 2 & 3 to consider and pass a speaking order to the representations dated 03.03.2025 and 21.07.2025 submitted by the petitioners within a period of three months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. [8] In order to do complete justice, respondent Nos. 2 & 3 are directed to heard other affected parties while deciding the representations. [9] With this observation, writ petition is disposed of.
