The present appeal is directed against the judgment and award dated 07.01.2022 passed by the Motor Accident Claims Tribunal/ District Judge, Udham Singh Nagar in M.A.C.P. No. 295 of 2018, whereby compensation to the tune of ₹5,55,600/- was awarded in favour of the appellants/claimants. 4. The present appeal has been preferred by the appellants/claimants seeking enhancement of the compensation amount. 5. The case is taken up today before the National Lok Adalat. 6. The Deputy Manager, representing The New India Assurance Company Limited, is present before the Lok Adalat. 7. Before the Lok Adalat, the parties have amicably settled the dispute. As per the terms of the settlement, respondent no.3/The New India Assurance Company Limited has agreed to pay an additional lump sum amount of ₹2,80,000/- (Rupees Two Lakh Eighty Thousand only) to the appellants/claimants, which shall be over and above the amount already paid. The enhanced amount of compensation shall be deposited by respondent no.3 within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a certified copy of this order. 8. In view of the compromise arrived at between the parties before the Lok Adalat, the present appeal is disposed of in terms of the settlement. 9. The compromise deed shall form part of the record.
