The writ petitioners numbering 77 in number, who are/were serving as Lady Supervisors under the ICDS Projects, Department Social Welfare, Government of Meghalaya, are before this Court assailing the inaction of the State respondents in not affording promotion and not implementing the guidelines and rules issued by the Government of India. The prayer in the instant writ petition is for disposal of these grievances which are contained in a representation dated 06-09-2023. 2025:MLHC:1184 8 2. In the course of the proceedings, the State respondents have since filed their affidavit, where it is shown that certain steps and action have been taken to address the grievances as set forth by the petitioners. In this context, learned Sr. counsel for the petitioner has also drawn the attention of the Court to the specific paragraphs in the affidavit, which indicates the process that had been initiated. 3. Learned Advocate General assisted by Mr. A.H.Kharwanlang, learned Addl. Sr. GA for the respondents No. 3-6, submits that this Court without going into the merits of the matter can perhaps, based on the prayer made in the writ petition, dispose of the matter by directing that the representation dated 06-09-2023, be disposed of within a certain time frame by taking into consideration all the relevant events that have transpired since the petitioners raised their grievances. 4. Accordingly, on the submissions of the learned counsel for the parties, and as the main prayer is also for disposal of the representation dated 06-09- 2023 (Annexure- 4) it is therefore directed, that the same be disposed of by the State respondents within a period of two months from the date this order is presented before the respondent No. 3. It is also made clear that whatever events that have transpired after filing the writ petition as contained in the 2025:MLHC:1184 9 affidavit also be given due consideration when the representation is disposed of and final orders pass thereof. 5. As ordered above, the writ petition stands closed and disposed of. All other Misc. cases also stand closed and disposed of.
