JUPUDI V K YAGNADUTT(CENTRAL GOVERNMENT COUNSEL) The Court made the following: 3 THE HON’BLE SRI JUSTICE VENKATESWARLU NIMMAGADDA WRIT PETITION NO: 12204/2025 ORDER: This writ petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of the India seeking the following reliefs:- “to issue a writ, order or direction more particularly one in the nature of Writ of Mandamus declaring the in action on the part of the of the respondent No.2 in changing my name as Paruchuri Vijayalakshmi instead of Aruna and extending all the consequential benefits on the demise of my husband P.Yugandhar Rao Ex-Service Men No.1244964P as arbitrary, illegal, colorable exercise of power and contrary to the well established legal principles, apart from being violative of the fundamental rights guaranteed to me under Articles 14, 19 and 21 of the Constitution of India and consequently direct the respondent No.2 to change my name as Paruchuri Vijayalakshmi instead of Aruna and extend all the consequential benefits on the demise of my husband P.Yugandhar Rao Ex-service Men No.1244964P and pass such other order.” 2. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner, Sri Jupudi V K Yagna Dutt, learned Central Government Counsel for respondent No.1 and the learned Government Pleader for the other respondents. 3. The grievance of the petitioner is that, even though the petitioner submitted a representation along with certain applications for the change of name in the service register of her deceased husband, the 2nd respondent, for reasons best known to him, did not act upon the petitioner’s request. Hence, the present Writ Petition. 4 4. During the pendency of the Writ Petition, the 2nd respondent issued proceedings dated 27.06.2025, stating that pursuant to the request of the petitioner by way of representation dated 20.06.2025, which was received by them on 25.06.2025, the service register of the deceased husband of the petitioner was modified and recorded as Smt. Parachuri Aruna @ Vijayalakshmi, as such as requested by the petitioner, her grievance was redressed. 5. Considering the submissions made by both the learned counsel and pursuant to the proceedings issued by the 2nd respondent dated 27.06.2025, the grievance of the petitioner stands redressed and no further orders are necessary. 6. In view of the above, the Writ Petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
