The petitioner has preferred the present petition with the following prayers:- (i) Issue writ, order or direction in the nature of mandamus commanding and directing the respondents to consider the claim of the petitioner by issuance of the passport within certain stipulated period of time as fixed by this Hon'ble Court 2. It appears from perusal of the record that the petitioner has submitted an application being Application No.LK1074285926019 for grant of Passport before the Regional Passport Office, Lucknow on 29.10.2019. 3. It is argued by learned counsel for the petitioner that one criminal case being N.C.R. No.99 of 2016 under Sections 323, 504 & 506 I.P.C was registered against the petitioner in Police Station Khukhundu District Deoria. It is argued that after filing of the present petition, certain amendments have been made in the Passport Rules, 1980 in the year 2020. Hence a prayer has been made to dismiss the present petition with liberty to file fresh application for grant of Passport. 4. Heard learned counsel for the parties and perused the record. 5. In the facts and circumstances of the case and without entering into the merits of the case, the present petition is disposed of permitting the petitioner to file fresh application for grant of Passport as per prescribed Versus Counsel for Petitioner(s) : Deep Chand Singh Counsel for Respondent(s) : A.S.G.I. Govind Kannaujiya .....Petitioner(s) Union Of India And 2 Others .....Respondent(s) procedure.
