1. Proceedings of this matter have been taken through video conferencing.
2. This is an ofÏce reference.
3. This Court, vide order dated 29.09.2023, passed in MCRC No. 6370 of 2023, while allowing the bail to the applicant, namely, Bhajoram Nandgawal had expressed its trust that the trial Court should make an earnest endeavor to conclude the trial expeditiously in accordance with law, preferably within a period of six months from the date of receipt of a certified copy of the order, if there was no legal impediment. 4. Earlier on three occasions also, this Court had granted extension of time for compliance of the order dated 29.09.2023.
5. The learned Special Judge (NDPS Act), Raigarh, District-Raigarh, (C.G.) vide his request letter dated 27.03.2025 has requested for grant of some more time for concluding the trial.
6. It transpires from perusal of the PUD that in this case, the prosecution has examined a total of 5 witnesses, with 3 additional witnesses remaining to be examined. Although the initial time limit for concluding the case expired on March 12, 2025, an oversight resulted in the failure to submit a request for an extension in a timely manner. Consequently, seeking additional time to conclude the case and offering an apology for the inadvertent delay.
7. The request appears to be reasonable. The concerned trial Court is
directed to conclude the trial as early as possible, preferably within a further period of five months from today.
8. Accordingly, this CRMP stands disposed off with the aforesaid direction.
9. Registry is directed to send a certified copy of this order to the trial Court concerned for necessary information and compliance. Sd/-
