Learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner personally approached the 2"^^ respondent and submitted reply on 25.10.2024 (Ex.P.2) and thereafter sent a reply by registered post on 24.04.2025 (Ex.P.3). Learned counsel would submit that despite the reply, the 2"'^ respondent has not been renewing the passport. Learned counsel for respondents 1 and 2 would submit that the petitioner failed to submit explanation to the show-cause notice dated 05.12.2023 and hence, the application made by the petitioner seeking renewal was closed on 02.12.2024. Learned counsel would also submit that the petitioner has to make a fresh application. In reply, learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner will make a fresh application seeking renewal/re-isssue of the passport. 4. 5. 6. 7. Given the facts and circumstances of the case, without going into merits of the matter, the writ petition is disposed of, at the admission stage with the consent of learned counsel on either side, giving liberty to the petitioner to make a fresh application seeking renewal/reissuance of the passport. Upon making such an application by the petitioner, the authorities shall consider the same and pass appropriate orders, strictly as per the Passport Act, 1967 and the Rules made thereunder.
