Page No.# 2/2 By this petition under Section 483 of the BNSS, 2023, the accused/petitioner, namely, Rajesh Sarma @ Raja Sarma, who has been behind the bars for 31 days and has prayed for grant of bail in connection with Dispur P.S. Case No. 603/2025, U/S 14 of the Assam Game and Betting Act, 1970. The allegation against the petitioner is that on 18.07.2025 based on reliable information about gambling activities taking place, an enquiry was carried out by the police from Dispur police station, at Bhigu Mrket area Kacahari Basti Road and the accused person was seen suspiciously selling some tickets where some members are written and accordingly, he was arrested. A case was registered under Section U/S 14 of the Assam Game and Betting Act, 1970. It appears from FIR itself that the recovered items have been seized and the petitioner has been behind bars for 19 days. Keeping in view the nature of the allegations and penalty provided for the alleged offence and considering the period of detention undergone, the prayer for bail is allowed. Accordingly, it is provided that the accused petitioner, named above, shall be released on bail of Rs.20,000/- with two sureties of like amount to the satisfaction of the learned CJM, Kamrup (M), subject to the condition:- i) That the petitioner shall Co-operate with the investigation.
