Petitioners claim to have done some work for the respondent no-3-Executive Officer, Nagar Palika Parishad Mailani District- Lakhimpur way back in the year 2016-17 and claim certain dues. On being asked as to why this petition has been filed after more than 8 years, they submitted that they have been representing the respondent no. 3. The explanation put forth is not acceptable. The limitation for filing a writ petition for recovery of money dues etc. is ordinarily three years. We see no reason to entertain this petition at this belated stage, however, this will not prejudice the opposite parties in considering the claim of the petitioners, if it is under process.
