District Education Officer, Tehri Garhwal issued an advertisement on 07.11.2025, inviting applications for appointment to the post of Assistant Teacher Government Primary School. In the said advertisement, the last date of submission of application was indicated as 05.12.2025. 3. Petitioner responded to the said advertisement and sent offline application by registered post on 27.11.2025. The application submitted by petitioner has been rejected on the ground that it reached the office of District Education Officer after the deadline. 4. It transpires that last date of submission of application pursuant to aforesaid advertisement was preponed to 30.11.2025 by issuing a corrigendum on 08.11.2025. Due to that preponement, petitioner’s right to be considered has been hampered. 5. This Court do not approve of the manner 2025:UHC:11354 in which the last date of submission of application was preponed. Petitioner in good faith submitted application well within time as per the earlier deadline indicated in the advertisement and change of that deadline has resulted in inconvenience, not only to petitioner but to several other candidates also. 6. In such view of the matter, the writ petition is allowed. All applications, which were received upto 05.12.2025, shall be treated to have been filed well within time and candidates who made such applications shall be considered for appointment.
