NARENDRA PRASAD - 4 - HC-KAR NC: 2025:KHC:20832 WP No. 6329 of 2024 C/W WP No. 5508 of 2024 ORAL ORDER These writ petitions are filed under Articles 226 & 227 of the Constitution of India seeking the following relief: “Call for the records and issue a writ of mandamus directing the respondent Nos. 2 and 3 to consider the representation of the petitioners dated 06.07.2023 & 05.07.2023, respectively, (Annexure-E) and further direct the respondents to promote the petitioner to the cadre of Water Inspectors and Senior Water Inspectors retrospectively on par with Sri B.K.Mariyappa and others with all consequential service and monetary benefits including re-fixation of pension of the petitioner, in the interest of equity, justice and fair play within a reasonable period of two weeks.” 2. The case of the petitioners is that, they were initially appointed as Mazdoors on daily wage basis and later their services have been regularized as Meter Readers and thereafter they have attained the age of superannuation on 31.03.2011 and 30.06.2019, respectively, retired as Water Inspector. - 5 - HC-KAR NC: 2025:KHC:20832 WP No. 6329 of 2024 C/W WP No. 5508 of 2024 3. The only grievance of the petitioners is that junior of the petitioners has been promoted retrospectively as Water Inspector. The same benefit has been denied to the petitioners. Hence, they submitted representations dated 06.07.2023 and 05.07.2023, respectively, vide Annexure- E in the respective petitions, to the second respondent. So far, the representations have not been considered. Hence they are before this Court. 4. The learned counsel for respondent Nos. 2 and 3 submits that, if this Court grants some reasonable time, the representations submitted by the petitioners would be considered in accordance with law. 5. In view of the above, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case, respondent Nos. 2 and 3 are directed to consider the representations of the petitioners vide Annexure-E in both the petitions, dated 06.07.2023 and 05.07.2023, in accordance with law, as expeditiously as possible, not later than three months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. - 6 - HC-KAR NC: 2025:KHC:20832 WP No. 6329 of 2024 C/W WP No. 5508 of 2024 With the above observations, these writ petitions stand disposed of.
