Petitioner wants consideration of his application for providing security under the Witness Protection Scheme- 2018, since attacks have been made on his life thrice in the past. Instructions have been obtained by the State Counsel according to which the committee has taken a decision to provide security to petitioner for traveling from his house to the Court and for return. Such security is to be provided by the Police Station- George Town, District- Prayagraj, but learned counsel for the petitioner states that neither any such security has been provided to the petitioner nor any order in that regard has been passed. In the facts of the case, we direct the sixth respondent to ensure that appropriate police protection in terms of the decision already taken by the District Level Committee is provided to the petitioner, within a week from the date of presentation of the certified copy of this order before the sixth respondent. Accordingly, the writ petition is disposed of.
