NARENDRA PRASAD ORAL ORDER This writ petition is filed under Articles 226 & 227 of the Constitution of India seeking the following reliefs: “Call for the records and issue a writ of mandamus directing the respondent Nos. 2 and 3 to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 06.07.2023 (Annexure-E) and further direct - 3 - HC-KAR NC: 2025:KHC:19978 WP No. 5771 of 2024 the respondents to promote the petitioner to the cadre of Water Inspectors and Senior Water Inspectors retrospectively on par with Sri B.K.Mariyappa and others with all consequential service and monetary benefits including re-fixation of pension of the petitioner, in the interest of equity, justice and fair play within a reasonable period of two weeks.” 2. The case of the petitioner is that, he was initially appointed as a Mazdoor on daily wage basis and later his service has been regularized as Meter Reader and thereafter he has attained the age of superannuation on 30.06.2019 and retired as Water Inspector. 3. The only grievance of the petitioner is that junior of the petitioner has been promoted retrospectively as Water Inspector. The same benefit has been denied to the petitioner. Hence, he submitted a representation dated 06.07.2023 vide Annexure-E to the second respondent. So far, the representation has not been considered. The learned counsel for respondent Nos. 2 and 3 submits that, if this Court grants some reasonable time, the representation submitted by the petitioner would be considered in accordance with law. 5. In view of the above, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case, respondent Nos. 2 and 3 are directed to consider the representation of the petitioner vide Annexure-E dated 06.07.2023, in accordance with law, as expeditiously as possible, not later than three months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
