Hon ’ble Su bh ash Upadh yay, J. Mr. Bhuwan Bhatt, Advocate, for the petitioners. Mr. Rakesh Kumar Joshi, Brief Holder, for the State. (2) Petitioners have approached this Court for protection. According to them, due to their m arriage against the wish of relatives of petitioner no. 1, they are facing threat to their life and liberty. According to petitioners, they got married as per Hindu rites and customs on 29.11.2025 and thereafter they are living together as husband and wife. Marriage certificate, issued by O/ o District Magistrate, Delhi, is enclosed as Annexure-3 to the writ petition. (3) Petitioners, duly identified by their Counsel, appeared before us. Petitioner no. 1 stated that she has passed 12th Standard and she is not employed anywhere as yet. Petitioner no. 2 stated that he possesses Diploma in Engineering and is employed as Marketing Executive in a private company called Paytm. Both the petitioners further stated that there is serious threat to their life and liberty from the private respondents, therefore police protection should be provided to them. As per the documents enclosed with the writ petition, both the petitioners are major. (4) Learned State Counsel submits that he has no objection against the prayer for protection made by petitioners as both the petitioners are major, as per the documents enclosed with the writ petition. 2025:UHC:11234-DB (5) Having regard to the aforesaid facts and reasons, writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the SHO, PS Jhabreda, District Haridwar to provide adequate protection to petitioners for a period of six weeks to ensure that no harm is caused to them from the private respondents or any other person acting on their behest. Upon expiry of six weeks, SHO concerned shall look into the threat perception to petitioners and take appropriate action, as deemed necessary.
