HIGH COURT OF JUDICATURE AT ALLAHABAD LUCKNOW WRIT - C No. - 9979 of 2025 Court No. - 3 HON'BLE SHEKHAR B. SARAF, J. HON'BLE PRASHANT KUMAR, J. 1. Heard learned counsel appearing on behalf of the parties. 2. This a writ petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India wherein the writ petitioner is aggrieved by an order dated 21.10.2024, wherein the respondent No.1 has rejected the claim of the petitioner for payment of ex-gratia amount in lieu of the death of her husband during the Covid-19 period while he was on duty. 3. Upon perusal of the impugned order, it appears that the authority has not considered the letters dated 03.06.2021 and 01.04.2021 that were issued by the Madhyancahl Vidyut Vitran Nigam Limited, which indicate that the petitioner's husband was involved in emergency Covid-19 duties. 4. In light of the same, we are of the view that the impugned order cannot be countenanced and is accordingly quashed and set aside with a direction upon the authorities to grant an another opportunity of hearing to the petitioner, and thereafter, pass a reasoned order in accordance with law within a period of eight weeks from date. 5. With the above direction, the writ petition is disposed of. October 10, 2025 cks/- Versus Counsel for Petitioner(s) : Vinod Kumar Counsel for Respondent(s) : C.S.C. (Prashant Kumar,J.) (Shekhar B.
