HIGH COURT OF JUDICATURE AT ALLAHABAD LUCKNOW PUBLIC INTEREST LITIGATION (PIL) No. - 1056 of 2025 Court No. - 1 HON'BLE RAJAN ROY, J.
HON'BLE RAJEEV BHARTI, J.
1. Heard.
2. Learned counsel for the petitioners made a statement at the very outset that he has instructions not to press relief nos.(i) and (ii). He wants to press only relief no.(iii).
3. Relief No.(iii) reads as under:-
"III. Issue a writ, order or direction in the nature of mandamus to commanding to the opposite parties to prepare fair voter list in the state of U.P. as per guidelines issued by opposite party no.03, in the interest of justice."
4. There cannot be any presumption that voter list would not be prepared fairly. We cannot possibly issue any such omnibus direction without there being a specific case made out about any unfairness. The preparation of the list has not started as yet. Therefore, for us to presume that there would be unfairness is absolutely baseless. Petition appears to be based purely on apprehension.
5. Accordingly, the petition is dismissed.
