3. By this application, the petitioner has prayed for bail in connection with Paltan Bazar P.S Case No. 183 of 2025 under Section 308(2) of the B.N.S,
2023. 4. The F.I.R dated 09.06.2025 reveals that the informant, who works as a Professor, has been harassed by the petitioner to the effect that the petitioner has threatened him to make his private photographs viral and had demanded money for not doing the same. While lodging the ejahar, the petitioner was not known to the victim and that during investigation, the petitioner’s name surfaced. 5. Mr. M.H Ahmed, learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner was called to the police station and was arrested on the strength of the said F.I.R. However, he submits that he has no connection with the offence, whatsoever, mentioned in the F.I.R and further, that he has not demanded any money from the victim. 6. Mr. R.J Baruah, learned Additional Public Prosecutor for the State of Assam submits on perusal of the Case Diary that there are enough materials showing that money was demanded by the petitioner from the victim and an account number was given to the victim in which the victim had deposited money and that the police, on verification, found that the account number belongs to the petitioner. As such, he submits that the petitioner has been harassing the victim and had taken money from him and has accordingly, prayed that no bail may be granted. It is seen that the victim, while lodging the ejahar, was not aware of the petitioner as to who he was. It was only when he have given the account number to the police, the police could find out the name of the petitioner who was operating that account in the bank.

However, apart from the said facts, there are no materials on record to show that it was the petitioner who had actually demanded money and had threatened the petitioner to make his photographs viral. 7. In view of the said facts, this Court finds it fit to release the petitioner on bail on furnishing of a bail bond of Rs. 20,000/- with 2(two) local sureties of like amount to the satisfaction of Ld. C.J.M, Kamrup (M), Guwahati under the following conditions : (i) The petitioner shall appear before the arresting authority as and when called for, without any fail. (ii) The petitioner shall not temper with the evidence or influence the witness connected with the case. (iii) The petitioner shall not leave the place of residence without the permission of the Court of Ld. C.J.M, Kamrup (M), Guwahati. 8. In view of the above, the petition stands disposed of.
