This is a writ petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India wherein the writ petitioner is aggrieved by the inaction on the part of the respondent authorities in protecting the petitioners from police exploitation. 3. Counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioners submits that in above regard, the petitioners have already submitted a representation on January 7, 2025 to the District Magistrate, Hathras but no decision has yet been taken. He prays that the aforesaid representation of the petitioners may be directed to be decided expeditiously. 4. Upon hearing the counsel appearing on behalf of the parties and perusing the record, we are of the view that the prayer of the petitioners is innocuous and may be granted. 5. Accordingly, the respondent No.3, being the District Magistrate, Hathras, is directed to consider and take a decision on the representation of the petitioners dated January 7, 2025 in accordance with law within a period of ten weeks from date. An opportunity of hearing should be granted to the petitioners before passing a reasoned order. 6. With these directions, the writ petition is disposed of.
