SREENIVASA REDDY Criminal Petition No.4775 of 2025 Order: This Criminal Petition, under Sections 480 and 483 of B.N.S.S, 2023., has been filed by the petitioner/A5, seeking regular bail, in - Crime No.21 of 2025 of Sabbavaram Police Station, Anakapalli District. 2. A case has been registered against 'the petitioner and others for the offences punishable under Sections 20(b)(ii).(C) r/w 8(c), 25 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985 (for short `the NDPS ActJ). 3. Case of the prosecution, in brief, is that, o1.02.2025 at 04.00 P.m., On receiving Credible information regarding transportation Of Ganja, the Sub-Inspector of Police, Sabbavaram Police Station along with this staff and mediators proceeded to Marripalem Toll Plaza and while Conducting vehicle checking found accused transporting 224 Kgs of GanJ-a in Eicher Vehicle bearing No.MH 09 GJ 2260 which was travelling from Anandapuram towards Anakapalli. The said Ganja was seized under.the cover of mediators report and Al to A5 were a rrested . 4. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner was shown as A5 basing on the confessional statement of iiiii= :i -A -I-___-i±t---- . EG,!STRAP` co-accused. The petitioner and others were remanded tO judicial custody on 01.02.2025 and since then they are languishing in jail, 5. Learned Ass-lstant Public Prosecutor submits that major portion of the investigation has been completed and there are no previous antecedents in respect of the petitioner herein. 6. Heard. Perused the record. 7. The petitioner was arrested and sent to judicial remand On 01.02.2025 and since then he is in jail. Since it is submitted by the learned Assistant Public Prosecutor that major portion of the investigation has been completed and the petitioner is languishing in jail since more than five months, this Court is inclined to grant bail to the petitioner. 8. Accordingly, the Criminal Petition is allowed. The petitioner/Accused No.5 shall be released on bail on executing a personal bond for Rs.10,000/-(Rupees Ten Thousand only) with two sureties for the like sum to the satisfaction of the learned I Additional District & Sessions Judge, Visakhapatnam.
