The present petition has been filed with the following prayer: "(i) Issue a writ, order or direction, in the nature of mandamus thereby commanding and directing the respondent no.2 to grant the Arms License of Pistol/revolver in favour of petitioner for safety and security. (ii) Issue a writ, order or direction, in the nature of mandamus thereby directing to the respondent no.2/District Magistrate, District Pratapgarh, to decide the Arms Application dated 29.08.2023 of petitioner within stipulated period, which is pending before the opposite party no.2, District Magistrate/Licensing Authority, Pratapgarh, for grant of Arms License (Revolver/Pistol), in favour of petitioner pending before him." 3. Considering the relief as sought, the present petition is disposed of directing the respondent no.2 to consider and decide the aforesaid application in accordance with law with all expedition preferably within a period of four months from the date of production of a certified copy of this order.
