According to the petitioner, he purchased a residential house and he has raised some construction over the said house, however, the respondent nos. 4 & 5 are creating hindrance in the construction work and they are also causing annoyance to the petitioner. 4. By means of this writ petition, petitioner has sought the following reliefs: - “a) Issue a writ order or direction in the nature of mandamus commanding and directing respondent authorities-SSP Dehradun, District Magistrate Dehradun and SHO, P.S. Rajpur, Dehradun to ensure that no illegal obstruction, interference or hindrance is caused by the private respondents in the lawful construction work of the petitioner being carried out strictly as per the sanctioned map dated 04.11.2016 issued by MDDA. b) Issue a writ order or direction in the nature of mandamus commanding and directing respondent authorities to take necessary action on the representation (Annexure No 4) as per law within stipulated time.” 5. Learned State Counsel rightly points out that the relief as claimed by petitioner can only be granted by a competent civil Court and public law remedy would not be the appropriate 2025:UHC:10955 forum for adjudication of private disputes. 6. The writ petition is, accordingly, disposed of with liberty to petitioner to approach the competent Court of law.
