Petitioners were appointed as teacher in un-aided school, which was subsequently included in the grant-in-aid list in 2005. Petitioners contend that the services rendered by them, before the institution was included in the grant-in-aid list, may also be taken into account for pensionary benefit. 3. It is contended that three persons similarly situate have been given such benefit. The relief sought in Writ Petition No. 2214 of 2025 (SS) is as follows: “Issue a writ order or direction in the nature of mandamus commanding and directing the respondents to count the petitioner’s entire service from 18.5.1993 to 31.03.2022 as qualifying service for pension under the Uttarakhand Retirement Benefits Act, 2018, and sanction/release pension and all consequential arrears with interest within a stipulated time.” 4. Learned State Counsel submits that 2025:UHC:11342 petitioners have sought a mandamus without making a formal demand. 5. Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that petitioners be permitted to make representation. 6. Accordingly, writ petitions are disposed of with liberty to petitioners to make representation, highlighting their grievance before the competent authority. If they make representation within three weeks from today, decision thereupon shall be taken, as per law, within six months thereafter.
