Heard Sri Mallikarjuna K.S., learned counsel for petitioner and Sri Shamanth Naik, learned High Court Government Pleader for the respondents. 3. The petitioner is said to be working as Manager in HAL factory. In the year 2011, some unknown person registers a complaint against him before the R.T.Nagar Police Station alleging that the petitioner has cheated public at large. It is the case of the petitioner that the event of the year 2011 is continuing to loom large against the petitioner. Therefore, the petitioner has sought for police protection to be granted to him. 4. If the petitioner is an accused in any crime, it is not that the police protection should be granted for the asking. But, the representation of the petitioner would depict real time threat to his life and the police shall accord police protection strictly in consonance with the circulars / guidelines issued by the Government from time to time, one of which, is the circular dated 14.11.2018. 5. Therefore, the following: ORDER a. The writ petition is allowed. - 4 - NC: 2025:KHC:9257 WP No. 4048 of 2023 b. The respondents shall take appropriate action in terms of the aforesaid circular as expeditiously as possible without brooking any delay. Ordered accordingly.
