The present PIL has been filed praying for a writ of mandamus commanding the respondents to complete the construction of Gudra Ghat Bridge at Gomti River at Surapur - Vijethua-Gudra-Koiripur Road, Tehsil Kadipur, District Sultanpur, at an early date. 2. The case of the petitioner is that at present there is no bridge over Gomti River, Tehsil Kadipur, District Sultanpur. A bridge was sanctioned long back in 2019, but it is still under construction, resulting in immense difficulties to the general public. 3. Sri Vivek Shukla, learned Additional Chief Standing Counsel, appearing for the State respondents, is in receipt of instructions from U.P. Bridge Corporation, which is the agency tasked with the construction of the bridge. He states that 78% of the construction work of the bridge is already complete. Thereafter, it got stalled because of paucity of funds. On 10.6.2025, additional budget has been sanctioned by the State Government. He states that the bridge would be completed expeditiously.
