By the present writ petition, the petitioner, who is presently posted as Constable(Driver) and he has served 19 years of service as Constable AMARDEEP CHOUBEY Digitally signed by AMARDEEP CHOUBEY Date: 2025.04.15 18:13:53 +0530 2 (Driver), but the service of the petitioner is not being considered for promotion to the next higher promotional post i.e. Head Constable (Driver). 2. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner has submitted representation before the Inspector General of Police, Rajnandgaon on several occasion starting from the year 2024 and last representation has been submitted on 04/01/2025 requesting to consider his name for promotion to the post of Head Constable (Driver), but till date, no decision has been taken and the petitioner is being deprived from promotion to the said post, for which, he is entitled. He further submits that the respondents be directed to consider the representation pending before him dated 04/01/2025 within a stipulated period. 3. Learned counsel for the respondents/State submit that if the representation is still pending, the same will be considered within a period of forty days in accordance with law. 4. I have heard learned counsel for the parties, perused the pleadings and documents. 5. It appears that the petitioner is working in the post of Constable (Driver) since 2005 and the petitioner on various occasion submitted a representation before the Inspector General of Police, by which, the petitioner is requesting to consider his name for promotion to the post of Head Constable (Driver), however, the same has not been decided till date, hence, the writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the respondents/Inspector General of Police, Rajnandgaon to consider the representation within a period of forty days from the date of receipt of copy of this order and take a decision on the said representation in accordance with law. 3 6. With the aforesaid observation and direction, the writ petition stands disposed of. The petitioner is at liberty to apprise the Inspector General of Police, Rajnandgaon about the order of this Court.
