Neutral Citation No. - 2025:AHC:29223 Court No. - 5 Case :- WRIT - A No. - 1840 of 2025 Petitioner :- Sumitra Devi And Another Respondent :- State Of U.P. And 3 Others Counsel for Petitioner :- Chandan Kumar Jaiswal Counsel for Respondent :- Abhishek Srivastava,C.S.C. Hon'ble Ajay Bhanot,J. No one has appeared on behalf of the petitioners. Name of learned counsel for the petitioner is shown in the cause list. Sri Abhishek Srivastava, learned counsel for the respondents submits that the deceased died in the year 30.10.2010. His son was given an employment on compassionate ground. The writ petition has been filed by the wife of the deceased employee seeking compassionate appointment for her daughter after 14 years. The writ petition is barred by the delay in laches. The writ petition is liable to be dismissed on ground of delay and laches. Filing of representations does not condone the delay. A long delay in pressing the claim for grant of appointment on compassionate ground leads to an inference that the financial penury caused by death of the employee does not exist. Moreover, the son has already been granted compassionate ground appointment and the second member of the family of the deceased is not entitled for the same. The writ petition is dismissed.
