Acquisition proceedings were initiated in the year 2018. The notification was published on 11.01.2023 under Section 11(1) of the Act of 2013. The petitioner relies upon multiple communications with regard to the issuance of an Award and payment of compensation. In spite of lapse of 2/5 https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis W.P(MD)No. 28257 of 2025 considerable period of time, it is stated that the award has not been issued and compensation has not been paid. 2. Learned Government Advocate accepts notice on behalf of all the respondents. He submits that the matter is pending before the Principal Secretary, Finance Department and that about six months is required to complete the process. 3. The position that emerges on examining the affidavit and documents is that the petitioner is not in a position to use his land in view of the acquisition proceedings. He has also not received any compensation till date. In these circumstances, it is just and necessary that action be taken on an expeditious basis to issue an award and pay compensation. 4. Accordingly, the respondents 3 to 5 are directed to issue the award and disburse the compensation to the petitioner for the acquisition of 91 cents of wetland in survey No.51/4 within four (4) months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 3/5 https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis W.P(MD)No. 28257 of 2025 5.
