GP FOR REVENUE The Court made the following: THE HONOURABLE SRI JUSTICE HARINATH.N WRIT PETITION NO: 10981 OF 2025 ORDER: The learned counsel for the petitioners submits that the petitioners are seeking police protection till the completion of the election for the post of Chairperson and Vice Person of Kuppam Municipality. It is submitted a representation dated 23.04.2025 to the 4th respondent. As seen from the representation, it is made on behalf of petitioners by the Member of Legislative Council (MLC). It is also submitted that the respondents have not acted on the representation. The petitioners apprehends that they may be subjected to illegal confinement or any other illegal activity to disturb the conduct of the election in a fair manner. 2. The learned Government Pleader for the Home submits that no such representation has been received by the respondents and that the representation which the petitioners claims to have submitted was sent by registered post, which is yet to be received by the respondents. It is submitted that the petitioners would have to submit a fresh representation, along with an Aadhaar card, to the 5th respondent and also provide details of the petitioners traveling in a bus or car, the registration number of the vehicle they intend to travel in. The representation shall also be endorsed by all the concerned parties and upon receiving such representation, the 5th respondent shall provide protection as desired by the petitioners, the police protection to be extended till the completion of the election of the President of Chairperson and Vice Person of Kuppam Municipality, Chittoor District. 3. Accordingly, this Writ Petition is disposed off. No costs.
