Bora, learned counsel for the petitioners as well as Shri BJ Talukdar, learned Additional Senior Government Advocate, Assam assisted by Shri PK Medhi, learned counsel and Shri S. Dutta, learned Standing Counsel, Panchayat and Rural Development Department. Also heard Shri HK Das, learned Page No.# 3/4 counsel, who has appeared for certain incumbents, who are interested in this proceedings and were intending to file impleadment application. 2. The grievance of the petitioners, who are 6 in numbers, is non-convening of the first meeting of the elected Members of the 96 Haradutta Gaon Panchayat, Rangia Development Block. It is the case of the petitioners that they are elected from various Wards under the aforesaid Gaon Panchayat and though the meeting was scheduled, the same could not be held and no President and Vice-President have been elected. 3. When this matter was taken up for consideration on 28.07.2025, this Court had directed the learned State Counsel to obtain instructions. 4. Shri Talukdar, learned Additional Senior Government Advocate has placed on record written communication dated 29.07.2025 issued by the District Commissioner, Kamrup whereby it has been stated that the first meeting was held on 09.07.2025 at 10:00 AM at the Irrigation IB, Chepti, Rangia and were conducted as per agenda in which the President and the Vice-President were elected amongst the Members. 5. The learned State Counsel has also submitted that along with instructions, all the requisite documents including the minutes of the meeting have been enclosed, which have been perused. 6. Shri HK Das, learned counsel has also informed that Shri Nripen Chandra Das and Shri Murmu Swargiary have been respectively elected as the President and Vice-President of the concerned Gaon Panchayat. 7. In view of the aforesaid instructions, this Court is of the opinion that there is no live cause of action to be adjudicated and accordingly the writ petition is closed. Page No.# 4/4 8.
