This application under Section 482 of BNSS, 2023 has been filed by the petitioner, namely, 1. Rejaul Karim, who is apprehending his arrest in connection with Rangia P.S Case No.140/2025 under Sections 299/196(1)(b) of BNS, 2023, R/W Section 13(1) of the Assam Cattle Preservation Act,2021. 3. The gist of the accusation in this case is that on 01.07.2025, one Dipankar Bordoloi had lodged an FIR before the Officer-in-Charge, Rangia P.S, inter alia, alleging that an information was received on that day regarding illegal cow slaughter and selling of beef meat in the hotel namely “New Mughal Garden” located near Garib Colony. Accordingly, a search was conducted. During search operation, 3 kgs of suspected beef meat was recovered from the said hotel. 4. The learned counsel for the petitioner has submitted that the owner of the hotel namely Ahmmad Ali was arrested in connection with the aforesaid case. However, later on he was enlarged on bail on 05.07.2025. 5. The learned counsel for the petitioner has submitted that the petitioner is one of the employees working in the said hotel and police is searching for him. 6. He submits that the petitioner is ready to cooperate in the investigation and therefore, prays for allowing the petitioner to go on anticipatory bail. 7. On the other hand, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor Page No.# 3/4 for the State has objected to grant of bail to the petitioner at this stage and has prayed for calling of the case diary. 8. I have considered the submissions made by learned counsel for both sides. 9. Since the suspected beef meat has already been seized and the owner of the hotel from where beef meat had recovered has also been enlarged on bail and since the petitioner is ready to cooperate in the investigation, hence this anticipatory bail application is disposed of with a direction to the petitioner to appear before the I.O of Rangia P.S Case No.140/2025 within 7 days from the date of this order and cooperate in the investigation. If he do so, within a stipulated period of time, in the event of his arrest in connection with the aforesaid case, he shall be allowed to go on bail of Rs.30,000/- (Rupees Thirty Thousand) only with one surety of like amount subject to the satisfaction of the Court of learned SDJM(M), Kamrup, Rangia with following conditions - (i) That the petitioner shall not directly or indirectly make any inducement, threat or promise to any person who may be acquainted with the facts of the case so as to dissuade such person from disclosing such facts of the case before the Investigating Officer; (ii) That the petitioner shall co-operate in the investigation; Page No.# 4/4 10.
