Mr. Nishant Pande, Advocate holding brief of Mr. Sandeep Kothari, learned counsel for the petitioner. 2. Mr. Narayan Dutt, learned Standing Counsel for the State of Uttarakhand. 3. Petitioner is serving as Excise Inspector. He was transferred from Kangri Check Post, Haridwar to District Rudrapryag, vide order dated 05.12.2023. According to petitioner, he joined duties at the transferred place i.e. Rudraprayag, on 07.12.2023, however, on 08.12.2023, the order of transfer was cancelled. Thus, feeling aggrieved, petitioner filed this writ petition. 4. Coordinate Bench of this Court passed interim order on 20.12.2023, staying the operation and effect of the cancellation order passed on 08.12.2023. On the strength of interim order, petitioner is continuing at District Rudraprayag. 5. No useful purpose would be served by keeping the writ petition pending. 6. Accordingly, the writ petition is disposed of with liberty to petitioner to make representation, regarding his transfer, to Excise Commissioner. If he makes representation within two weeks from today, decision thereupon shall be taken, as per law, within four weeks thereafter. For a period of six weeks or 2025:UHC:10220 till decision is taken by Excise Commissioner, whichever is earlier, status quo qua petitioner’s posting shall be maintained.
