This Court, vide order dated 19.09.2024, passed in MCRC No. 5352 of 2024, while allowing the bail to the applicant, namely, Kishore Sahu had expressed its trust that the trial Court should make an earnest endeavor to conclude the trial expeditiously in accordance with law, preferably within a period of six months from the date of receipt of a certified copy of the order, if there was no legal impediment. The learned Special Judge (NDPS Act), Jashpur, District-Jashpur, (C.G.) vide his request letter dated 26.03.2025 has requested for grant of some more time for concluding the trial. 5. It transpires from perusal of the PUD that in this case, a total of 09 prosecution witnesses have been examined and examination of 02 accompanying constable witnesses and cross-examination of the Investigating OfÏcer is still pending. Arrest warrants were issued to ensure the presence of the witnesses and further, the competent court is facing challenges due to the sudden demise of the former Additional Public Prosecutor, with no new appointment made in the past 8 months. Notifications have been sent to relevant authorities regarding this issue. Hence, the conclusion of the trial is likely to take some time. 6. The request appears to be reasonable. The concerned trial Court is directed to conclude the trial as early as possible, preferably within a further period of four months from today. 7. Accordingly, this CRMP stands disposed off with the aforesaid direction. 8.
