The petitioner, through the medium of this petition, has sought quashing of order dated 10.02.2023, whereby the private respondent has been appointed as Lambardar of village Mehari Gujjran, Tehsil and District Rajouri. 2. This Court vide order dated 12.01.2024, kept the appointment of respondent No. 5 as Lambardar, subject to outcome of instant writ petition. Though the respondents have not filed reply, but a perusal of the order impugned reveals that the private respondent was appointed as a substitute Lambardar on temporary basis for a period of six months or till elections are held. 3. Substituted Lambardar could not have been appointed on temporary basis beyond the period of six months. As the private respondent has continued as Lambardar for village Mehari Gujjran, Tehsil and District Rajouri beyond more than one year, accordingly, the writ petition is Serial No. 52 2 WP(C) No. 50/2024 disposed of along with the connected application by directing the official respondents to conduct elections for the post of Lambardar of village Mehari Gujjran, Tehsil and District Rajouri within a period of three months from the date of receipt of certified copy of this order and the respondents shall not extend the tenure of the private respondent as temporary Lambardar. 4.
