The allegation in the final report is that due to prior enmity, the petitioners abused the defacto complainant in filthy language, attacked him and threatened him with dire consequences and thus, committed the aforesaid offences. 3. Admittedly, the petitioners and the second respondent belong to the same village and they have now entered into a compromise and decided to give a quietus to the entire dispute. In view of the same and considering the nature of the offences and the relationship between the parties, this Court is of the view that no useful purpose would be served by keeping the impugned final report pending trial. Accordingly, the impugned final report in FR.No.42 of 2024 dated 18.07.2024 is quashed and the Criminal Original Petition stands allowed. 15.09.2025 NCC : Yes / No Index : Yes / No Internet : Yes/ No Lm Note: Issue order copy by 18.09.2025. 7/9 https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis Crl.O.P.(MD)No.14696 of 2025 To 1.The District Munsif cum Judicial Magistrate, Thirupuvanam. 2.The Inspector of Police, Palayanur Police Station, Sivagangai District. 3.The Additional Public Prosecutor, Madurai Bench of Madras High Court, Madurai. 8/9 https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis Crl.O.P.(MD)No.14696 of 2025 SUNDER MOHAN, J.
