Petitioners possess Diploma in Pharmacy from a recognised Institution, therefore, they are educationally qualified for appointment in Hospitals run under Employees’ State Insurance Scheme. An advertisement was issued by Uttarakhand Medical Service Selection Board on 16.10.2024, inviting applications against vacancies on the post of Pharmacist. However, in the advertisement, the upper age limit for appointment was indicated as 42 years. Since both the petitioners have crossed the upper age limit, therefore, they have filed this writ petition, seeking relaxation in upper age limit. 6. Since the upper age limit is fixed by Statutory Rules and the relaxation, if any, in upper age limit can only be granted by State Government, therefore, the writ petition is disposed of with liberty to petitioners to approach the Competent Authority in State Government by making representation. If 2025:UHC:10224 petitioners make representation within ten days from today, decision thereupon shall be taken within eight weeks thereafter.
