Also heard Mr. K.K. Parasar, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor for the State. 2. This application under Section 483 of BNSS, 2023 has been filed by the petitioners, namely, 1. Dildar Alom Ahmed, 2. Paras Ali, who are detained behind the bars since 01.07.2025 (for last 20 days) in connection with Abhayapuri P.S Case No. 148/2025 under Section 299 of the BNS, 2023, read with Section – 13(1) of the Assam Cattle Preservation Act, 2021. 3. The gist of the accusation in this case is that on 01.07.2025, one Utpal Kalita, S.I. of Abhayapuri P.S had lodged an FIR before the Officer-in-charge of Abhayapuri P.S, inter alia, alleging that on that day after receiving an information through reliable sources that some hotels are illegally indulging in cattle slaughter and unauthorized sale of beef meat in contravention of the provisions of Assam Cattle Preservation Act, 2021, the search operation was conducted at “Mahira Hotel”. During search, 3.82 kgs of cooked meat suspected to be of beef was recovered. 4. The learned counsel for the petitioners has submitted that the petitioners are only working in the said hotel and they are already detained behind the bars for last 20 days. He further submits that considering the nature of the offence and the fact that the Page No.# 3/4 suspected beef meat is already been recovered and seized. Therefore, their further custodial interrogation may not be necessary. 5. On the other hand, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor has submitted that the prayer for bail of the petitioners was rejected by the trial court after perusal of the case diary. Hence, case dairy may be called for. 6. I have considered the submissions made by the learned counsel for both sides. 7. In this case, the accusation is of possession of suspected beef meat in contravention of the provisions of Assam Cattle Preservation Act, 2021. The suspected beef meat has already been seized in this case. 8. Considering the fact that the petitioners are detained behind the bars for last 20 days, their further custodial interrogation may not be necessary. 9. Accordingly, the above named petitioners are allowed to go on bail of Rs.30,000/- (Rupees Thirty Thousand) only each with one surety of like amount subject to the satisfaction of the learned S.D.J.M(M), North Salmara, Abhayapuri, with following conditions: (i) That the petitioners shall not directly or indirectly make any inducement, threat or promise to any person who may be acquainted with the facts of the case so as to dissuade such person from disclosing such facts of the case before the Investigating Officer; Page No.# 4/4 (ii) That the petitioners shall co-operate in the investigation; 10.
