JUSTICE AHANTHEM BIMOL SINGH 31.07.2025 [1] Heard Mr. W. Geetarani, learned counsel appearing for the petitioners and Mrs. L. Monomala, learned GA appearing for the respondents. In view of the limited prayer made on behalf of the petitioners and as agreed to by both the counsels appearing for the parties, the present writ petition is being disposed of at the motion stage itself. [2] It is the simple case of the petitioners that by an order dated 07.01.2025 issued by the Commissioner (Hr. & Tech. Edn.), Government of Manipur, the petitioners were given promotion to the post of Assistant Professor, Hindi Teacher’s Training College. However, in the said order, the effective date of such promotion was not mentioned resulting in non- payment of the pay scale of the Assistant Professor since the month of January, 2025. [4] The learned counsel for the petitioners submitted that for redressing their grievances, the petitioners have submitted a representation dated 04.06.2025 to the concerned authorities of the Government with a request for giving an effective date of their promotion. However, the said representation is still pending for consideration. The learned counsel submitted that the present writ petition can be disposed of by directing the Administrative Secretary (Hr. & Tech. Edn.), Government of Manipur to consider the said representation on its own merit and to dispose of the same by issuing an effective order within a stipulated period. [5] Mrs. L. Monomala, learned GA appearing for the respondents fairly submitted that as the prayer made on behalf of the petitioners is limited to consideration and disposal of the representation submitted by them, she has no objection in disposing of the present writ petition as prayed for by the learned counsel appearing for the petitioners. [6] Taking into consideration, the simple nature of case raised in this writ petition and also the submission advanced by the learned counsel appearing for the parties, this Court is of the considered view that it will be in the interest of justice to dispose of this writ petition by issuing the following direction:- Page 3 (1) The Administrative Secretary (Hr. & Tech. Edn.), Government of Manipur is hereby directed to consider the representation dated 04.06.2025 submitted by the petitioners with a request for giving an effective date of their promotion to the post of Assistant Professor, Hindi Teacher’s Training College and to dispose of the same by issuing an effective order. (2) It is made clear that the whole process should be completed within a period of 2 (two) weeks from the date of receipt of a certified copy of this order. [7] With the aforesaid direction, the present writ petition is disposed of. [8] A copy of this order be furnished to both the counsel appearing for the parties through their whatsapp/e-mail during the course of the day for doing the needful. JUDGE Sapana
