Mr. E.Marbaniang, learned counsel has entered appearance today on behalf of the respondent No. 4, as such, notice is complete. 2. An additional affidavit has been filed by the writ petitioner wherein the said affidavit, it is seen that the petitioner No. 1 is a school teacher. With regard to the petitioner No. 2, it is stated that she is only a helper and not a regular employee. Further, in the additional affidavit, an assertion has also been made that the new Chairman of the VEC is also a school teacher at Mawkahiar SSA UP School, and the Secretary is working under the Sohiong Block Office. 2025:MLHC:1193 3 3. In this view of the matter, Mr. N.D.Chullai, learned AAG assisted by Mr. J.N.Rynjah, learned GA for the respondents No. 1-3, prays that he may be allowed to obtain instructions as to the allegations made, and if the same is correct, the entire exercise that has been carried out earlier shall be nullified and new elections will be conducted by allowing only the eligible candidates to be selected. 4. On the submissions of the learned AAG and on consideration of the facts of the case, this Court deems it fit to dispose of the case by directing the State respondents to ascertain the correct status of the VEC office bearers and if the allegations made in the additional affidavit of the petitioner are proved to be correct, to order for new elections from amongst only eligible candidates. 5.
