This writ petition has been filed with the prayer to direct the respondents to provide compensation for the death of the petitioner's husband due to drowning relying upon the Government Order, dated 9.6.2021. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that there is already a policy of the State to compensate the farmer where the death of a family member occurs due to drowning. It is submitted that such claim of the petitioner is kept pending without any decision taken thereon. Learned Standing Counsel states that such claim of the petitioner would be dealt with, in accordance with law, expeditiously. In order to facilitate such consideration, we permit the petitioner to approach the third respondent, annexing all materials in support of her claim together with a certified copy of this order. The concerned authority shall get the facts inquired and take an appropriate decision, in terms of the policy, by passing a reasoned order within a period of four months, from the date of presentation of certified copy of this order. With the above directions, this writ petition stands disposed of.
