This first bail application has been moved by the applicant seeking regular bail in Case Crime/ F.I.R. No.0030 of 2025, under Section 8/ 20 of N.D.P.S. Act, registered at Police Station Bhatrojkhan, District Almora. 3. Learned counsel for the applicant contended that the applicant has been falsely implicated in the present case, has no criminal history and has remained in judicial custody since 28.10.2025. It is submitted that there is no direct evidence against the applicant. 4. Per contra, learned State Counsel opposed the prayer for bail, contending that the offences alleged against the applicant are grave and fall within the ambit of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985, which prescribes stringent conditions for the grant of bail. It was further submitted that the trial is presently underway, and releasing the applicant at this stage may hamper the fair progress of the proceedings and adversely impact the administration of justice. 5. Having given thoughtful consideration to the rival submissions advanced by learned counsel for the 2025:UHC:10833 parties and upon perusal of the material available on record, this Court does not find any sufficient ground to enlarge the applicant on bail at this stage of the trial. The application, accordingly, stands rejected.
