ORDER The petitioner has submitted a representation to the 3rd respondent seeking permission to install a Vinayagar idol and take the Vinayagar idol in the procession to be conducted in the Elumalai Village. The petitioner's representation was rejected by the 3rd respondent, by his proceedings dated
17.08.2025. Challenging the same, the present writ petition has been filed.
2. Today, when this writ petition is taken up for hearing, there is no representation for the petitioner.
3. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor submits that during the year 2023, nearly 100 persons took part in the vinayagar chathurthi procession in Elumalai Village, by playing songs in the loudspeakers and also dancing in scanty dress and thereby, caused nuisance to the public and it created the law and order problem. W.P.Crl.(MD)No.1172 of 2025 Crime Nos.197 and 196 of 2023 have also been registered on the file of the Elumalai Police Station. Since there is a possibility of law and order problem, this year, the 3rd respondent has rejected the request of the petitioner.
4. In view of the law and order concern, this Court is not inclined to interfere with the impugned order passed by the 3rd respondent in Na.Ka.No. 01/SaAa/Thi.Ramathapuram Kaval Nilayam/2025 dated 17.08.2025.
