The present petition has been filed with the following prayer : "issue a writ, order or direction in the nature of mandamus commanding and directing to the District Magistrate Lucknow to decide the Application No.225 of 2023 filed under section Arms Act pending since 2023 and all the formalities completed as early as possible or time formulated by this Hon'ble Court, in the interest of justice." 3. Considering the prayer limited to the issue of mandamus, the writ petition is disposed off directing the opposite party no.2 (District Magistrate Lucknow) to decide the aforesaid application expeditiously within a period of four months from the date of production of a certified copy of this order.
