Pleader ORDER The petitioner herein seeks a direction to the respondents to effect necessary amendments in all the revenue records, such as patta, chitta, village FMB, A register, and Adangal, to show the ownership and possession of the petitioner for the properties pertaining to Survey No.122/5B at Kalari Group Village, Keelakarai Taluk, Ramanathapuram District. 2. It is the case of the petitioner that he purchased the land comprised in S.No.122/5 under sale deed dated 28.12.1985, and a patta was also issued in his name in patta No.378. It is further stated by the petitioner that the above-said land was later subdivided into S.No.122/5A, 122/5B, and 122/5C, and new subdivision No.122/5B in respect of 0.90.0 ares was reclassified as 'Government land' without his knowledge. The respondents also allotted the land comprised in S.No.122/5B for the persons belonging to the Scheduled Caste community. Therefore, the petitioner submitted an application before the respondents on 11.10.2015, seeking cancellation of the entries made in the revenue records in favour of the Government and restoration of the patta in the name of the petitioner. The learned Additional Government Pleader, who appeared for the respondents, based on the written instructions, submits that 0.90.0 ares of the land in S.No.122/5B was acquired by the Government for providing free house sites to the persons belonging to the weaker sections of the society. The remaining properties in the said survey number, which were reclassified as S.Nos.122/5A and 122/5C, are standing in the name of the petitioner. It is also stated by the learned Additional Government Pleader that subsequent to the acquisition, the property comprised in S.No.122/5B was allotted in favour of 58 pattathars. 4. In view of the above-said submission made by the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents, if the petitioner is aggrieved, it is for him to challenge the acquisition proceedings in a manner known to law. It is stated that the acquisition had taken place in the year 1982. In such circumstances, the request made by the petitioner for restoration of patta cannot be considered by the respondents. 5. With the above observation, this writ petition is dismissed. No costs.
