Phukan, learned counsel for the petitioners; Mr. K. Kalita, learned counsel for the respondent nos. 1, 2 & 3; and Mr. A. Dasgupta, learned Senior Counsel assisted by Ms. B. Das, learned counsel for the respondent no. 4. 2. The petitioners, in this writ petition, were issued Letter of Awards [LoAs] for hiring of service of vehicles of different specifications. The petitioners have preferred this writ petition seeking inter-alia a direction to the respondent authorities in the Oil India Limited to allow the petitioners to operate the vehicles as per their respective LoAs. 3. On perusal of the LoAs annexed to this writ petition, it transpires that the LoAs were for a period of 4 [four] years each. 4. Mr. Kalita, learned counsel appearing for the respondent Oil India Limited authorities Page No. 3/3 has submitted that the tenures of LoAs issued in favour of the petitioners to operate the vehicles have already expired and the LoAs were not renewed for any subsequent period. 5. In the above view of the matter, there appears no surviving cause of action for the petitioners to pursue the writ petition. 6. On making a query, Mr. Phukan, learned counsel for the petitioners has submitted that he has no latest instructions to pursue the writ petition. 7. Accordingly, this writ petition is closed having no cause of action. Accordingly, the interim order passed earlier on 11.11.2020 also stands recalled. JUDGE Comparing Assistant
